It is my mother's birthday. I hope you have a lovely day mom. As for things going on here I have a virus :( I've been coughing with a fever and just gross for a few days now. Hopefully it gets better soon. The doctor thinks I should still go to class "if I can." What does that even mean? I am physically capable of walking to class. Definitely not capable of keeping a train of thought going for too long. My brain has checked out. Let's just say thank goodness for spell check becauses checked was definitely "ckeck ed" just a second ago.
In case you haven't heard, (which I don't think I told anyone at home anyway), I got honors! I'm not sure which level yet. I won't know until the end of the month. But I will be graduating with honors. Oh that reminds me, that kinda-date-maybe-thing I went on Wednesday was apparently a date. He's really sweet, and do not fear, there was at least a foot between us the whole time. He is a total gentlmen. Not really sure where this is goin, but it's nice to have aguy express interest in you in such a repectable fashion. Pistachio's good too. He's just chillin in his aquarium right now trying to walk through glass like he always does. Well, I think I'm going to go get some breakfast. I'm feeling applesauce right now. Then I'll try to study for my chem quiz, and we'll see if I get to class.

Wow. It's been a while.
Since it's been so long, I'll just go with the highlights. (Not that all of them are great, but you get what I mean.) If you don't already know, Alex and I broke up while he was visiting in February. That's a lot of the reason why I haven't been on here in a while. I just needed to get my life back together. Basically, the long distance just wasn't healthy for either of us. Unfortunately, I was the only one who thought this was a good enough reason to end things, but we will both move on and remember each other fondly. Last term ended well, I got about what I expected in grades, not great, but certainly not shabby either. Spring break was fun, but tooooo short. Driving took up so much time, but it was worth it to have something to haul everything back in. That reminds me, I have officially decided to go the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona. It's in Tuscon, and will be so much warmer than here. (It is currently overcast with a very large chance of rain.)
This term has been a bit hectic. I'm taking classes that I don't really have the background for. So, I'm having to learn a lot of things on my own. I absolutely adore my Shakespeare class. The professor is understanding, laid back, engaging, and really knowledgable about Shakespeare and others interpretations of him. My Chemistry class is a piece of work though. I tested into the class below this one, but it conflicted with my schedule and I got an exception. I currently have an A- or B+ in it though. So fear not, my grades are not suffering. I also turned in my honors thesis last Monday. I'm defending it this Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed. Also, just fyi, I did not pass my Japanese exit exam. It was quite ridiculous. I have an A- average in all of my Japanese classes, but our test was to give a formal presentation, which we've never done before. And he made me teach physics in Japanese. Do you have any idea how difficult that is? They teach it in English in Japan most of the time! Also "what do you find interesting about velocity?" is not a fair question. I have a nasty suspiction that he's trying to get back at me for dropping his class. Oh well, as my advisor said, I don't need that minor, and no grad school will care if I didn't pass one stupid little test. Besides, I may get to work for a research group in Arizona that builds lasers for Tokyo!!
On a more fun note. We had All Greek formal on Friday. I went with my friend Sarah. It was quite lovely. Unfortunately, that afternoon I fell down an entire flight of stairs and landed on my left hand. It is quite bruised and swollen. I went to the nurse, and she thought my wrist was sprained. My wrist isn't even swollen. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go the clinic if it keeps bothering me as much as it is, and get a more educated opinion. Also, yesterday was our Gamelan concert. For those of you that don't know what that is, I am in an Indoseian band called Gamelan Cahayan Asri. It's a traditional Balinese band, that is basically a lot of different gong-like and xylophone-like instruments. I play the Jublag, Penechya and Cantilan. At least, I'm pretty sure that's how you spell them.
As on the boy front, (because I know my father at least will ask) there is really nothing terribly exciting going on. I may have a date on Wednesday, but I'm actually not all that certain if it is a date or just two friends going out to dinner. I guess we will just have to see. I doubt anything serious will actually come of it. He is a really great guy, but not really my type. Oh well. Plenty of fish in the sea... or should I say Arizona? Just kidding. I'm not on a man hunt at grad school. I'm there to work, learn how to live on my own, and grow into whatever person the lord decides I should be.

Seventh Week begins
Midterms are finally over. People's lives seem to be becoming less stressful. I did decently on my Math Methods midterm, about average for a class with this professor. I have an assignment due tomorrow and a quiz. I really want to finish early and watch a movie, but we'll see what happens. I only have 3 problems out of 8 left. But one of them is really difficult. The other two, I'm not so sure about.
Alex is getting here in 10 days! Holy cow that's soon! That means I really need to clean my room and do laundry! I definitely need to do laundry in the next couple of days. I'm running low on socks. I hate that.
I still haven't heard back from any other schools. That's good because it means I didn't get rejected in the first round. Basically it looks like I'm temporarily wait listed at the other schools. Hopefully some of their first picks will turn them down, and I can get accepted too!

Life is getting better.
Sorry for that last post. That's what happens when you have lots of stuff to do that you don't particularly want to do. And you're extremely stressed about getting it done on time.
Anyway, if you haven't already heard. I've gotten into two grad schools! The first is the University of Arizona, College of Optical Sciences. They're offering me $41,000 a year. Which, after the tuition and required insurance amounts to about $16,000 a year to live off of. The second is Oregon State University. I haven't received any financial info from them yet though.
Also, I have officially dropped my Japanese course. No, that does not mean I dropped my minor. I can still take the exit exam and as long as I pass, I will get my minor.
Well, I should really get back to my Math Methods of Physics homework. I've gotten into the habit of signing contracts with Melissa about how much I must get done before I am allowed to watch TV. And I really want to watch a movie tonight! Only one more problem and TV here I come!

Midterms Stink!
Ok. So here's my life in a nut shell. I have class every MWF from 8:30 until 12:20. Physics, more physics then Japanese. By this time, my brain is dead. Mondays after class, I take about a half hour break, then study until dinner time. After dinner time I study until about 1am, then get to bed. On Tuesdays, I get up at 9am, study until lunch, study until dinner, study until 9 or 10, watch a tv show or movie (if I have time and energy) then go to bed. Wednesdays, after class, I eat a quick lunch, then gfo to work from 1-4. Normally work runs late. I then study for a couple of hours and go to dinner. After dinner, I have to run a meeting from 7-8. at 8:15 I have class until 9:45. Then I study until about 1am. Thursday comes along. I get up at 9 am and study until lunch. After lunch I do a almost weekly shopping trip with Melissa. We pet cats at PetSmart, pick up crickets for her salamanders and go to the grocery store. Fridays, after class, I eat lunch, then study until 5. I have class at 5:15 until 6:45. After this, I study until about 8pm. Then I go out with friends or stay in and watch a movie. Then ALL DAY saturday I study. Unless, on the rare occasion, I have something to do on Saturday, then I skip the movie Friday night. On Sunday's I study all day except for my one hour Kappa meeting.
So, if people are wondering, or complaining about how I have not made this blog in a ridiculously long time. It's because I have no life. I work 24/7. You try understanding Thermal Physics, Mathematical Methods of Physics and Japanese. It's a lot of work. I have four midterms this week that will account for at least 20% of my grade in all of my classes. Two of those midterms are tomorrow. Then I get another midterm on Friday. But don't worry, I'm supposed to, in the midst of all this, find time to work on my take home midterm.
Meanwhile, I'm sleeping an average of 4 hours a night, forgetting to talk with my boyfriend online. And being generally way to stressed and caffinated to possibly be healthy. So, I apologize for not updating you on my life, but truth is, it's not that interesting. If you had to guess what I'm up to, studying or class are basically the only options for me right now.
Sorry for the stressed out post. I hope I didn't ruin your image of the party college life. lol.

The last month....Where did it go?
Wow, it's been a long time since I've written. So here's the cliff notes of my life in the fifteen minutes I have before my next meeting.
Christmas was great, I got to see all my family and friends. My nieces are absolutely adorable. I can't believe I was away for so long. New Years was uneventful. I flew back to Appleton on New Year's Day. So, I wanted sleep and spent most of New Year's Eve packing. The flight was all on time, luggage was there when I was...
Classes are suuuuper interesting, but really really time consuming and hard. I'm taking Thermal physics, which is something I should have taken last year, but took a different class instead. it's not terribly difficult, but some of the hw sets are tedious. I'm also taking Mathmatical Methods of Physics. Essentially, this class is teaching me math theorems that make it to where I never have to do calculus ever again. Yep, it's back to algebra for me!!! Advanced Readings in Japanese is not what the course description says it is. It's basically just another language course. And, since I missed last term, I'm behind three months. Tack on not speaking Japanese for six months and you've basically got utter confusion. I seem to be remembering some things though. It's coming back.
Kappa is great! We've been having recruitment lately. It looks like we'll have 10 new members this term! Just to put that in perspective, last term was 2, when I joined it was five. Soooo many girls.
Alright I really need to get to my meeting, so I know how to do my honor's project, and then I have Gamelan!

Almost Home
I'm currently at my last day of work. Yes I am blogging at work in the middle of the day. And really no one cares. They haven't cared this whole time. How cool are my bosses? I'm really going to miss everyone here. I'm have a 100% off sale in my office of some stuff that I am not taking with me. It's a pretty random collection of baking supplies, candy, gloves, nail polish, etc. I'm also giving away a couple of books my mom and grandma sent to me. I don't think they realized what the books were about before they sent them to me. The one my grandma sent gave the message that church is bad, homosexuality is ok, marriage is not sacred, sex before marriage is ok, etc. I'm pretty sure that's the exact opposite of what she's taught me. Well, I'm pretty sure she thinks homosexuality is wrong, but she certainly tolerates it well.
Anyway, I am almost done packing. I have a few things that I still need to use. The bags are almost the same weight I came in with despite all of the gifts and souvenirs I bought. I guess the clothes I threw away, gave to charity or gave to Alex to bring to me in April really countered that well. One back is 42lbs and the other is 46lbs. So, I still have a bit of room for the presents Alex is sending me home with. His present got lost in the mail, and is being resent to him. Hopefully it gets there before Christmas, but I'd be surprised if it got there before February. lol.
I did get some pretty amazing gifts for people, if I do say so myself. I think my mom will certainly like her present the most. I finally found an amazing gift for Christina too. And my grandparents will love their souvenir. Though, their souvenir is actually from Portugal. haha. Oh well. Grandma's present is from the Netherlands, so it evens out. Grandpa is the only person I haven't gotten a present for yet. He's so hard to shop for! I have one really great idea, but I've been looking for over a month for it and no luck! I'm going to the campus store to see if I could get him a university souvenir. If not, I'll pick him up something in Amsterdam. Maybe I'll get him some of the pickled herring that's so popular here. haha!
I just realized I haven't blogged about Rome. It was great! I got to see so much. I went to the Colosseum, the ruins, the Vatican, Saint Maria's church. The Sistine Chapel. I even climbs the stairs that Jesus walked on my kneed (next to a nun no less). I have approximately 500 pictures from Rome and Paris. So, pictures will just have to wait. Sorry. Those of you who really depend on these pictures can just look at my camera in a couple of days anyway.
Well, I should really get back to work. It's almost lunch time, and all I've done is sell stuff for $0. lol
